SOLUTION · AUTOMATED WAREHOUSE

High-density automated warehouse: an automated pallet storage system.

How do you store significantly more in the same footprint?

LogiPath is the local Romanian partner of international manufacturers and integrators of AS/RS and AVS/RS automated warehouses for factories and distribution centres. Automated storage systems that make use of every vertical meter and free up floor space. Pallets are handled automatically, at height, with high selectivity and no operators in storage areas — in new facilities or existing warehouses, including refrigerated environments.

High-density automated warehouse with stacker cranes and shuttles
In brief

The high-density automated warehouse stores pallets vertically, with transfer cars, cranes, or shuttles that handle the load at height, with no operators in storage areas. It makes use of cubic space instead of floor space, maintains full traceability of every movement, and operates around the clock — including in existing facilities or refrigerated environments.

HOW IT WORKS

Two high-density technologies, chosen to match your flow.

Depending on SKU count, required throughput, and available height, we design the warehouse with shuttles, cranes, or a combination of both. Both store in depth, by choice.

WITH SHUTTLES · AVS/RS

High density, with many simultaneous movements.

Autonomous shuttles move across levels and in depth, for high density and constant flow at input and output. Ideal when you have many parallel operations and high throughput.

WITH CRANES · AS/RS

Great height and maximum selectivity.

Stacker cranes handle pallets at great heights, with maximum selectivity and redundant architecture. Ideal for very tall storage and high operational continuity.

Single-deep Double-deep Multi-depth Refrigerated & frozen environments
WHY IT MATTERS

More space, more continuity.

01

Maximum density

You store far more in the same footprint by making use of height. You gain capacity without expanding the building.

02

Selectivity and continuity

Each crane or shuttle works independently, so one flow doesn't block another — even with many SKUs in stock.

03

Refrigerated and frozen environments

It also works at low temperatures, where space is most expensive — with precise handling and no operators in the cold. Details on the automated cold storage page.

04

Modular and scalable

A modular architecture that expands as you grow. Deployed in new facilities or over your existing warehouse.

3D simulation for sizing an automated warehouse to your operation
DESIGNED FROM DATA

Sized to your operation, validated through simulation.

We don't start from a catalog — we start from your data: how many SKUs you store and handle at once, what throughput you need, your production volumes, and your building constraints. We compare scenarios through simulation before you build, so the solution is sized correctly the first time.

  • Analysis based on actual SKU count and required throughput
  • Scenarios compared through simulation, before you invest
  • Complete solution, delivered by our partner, in new facilities or over what you already have
  • Energy efficiency through recovery systems
  • Independent aisle access, with safety systems
  • Full traceability of every pallet
NOT A MACHINE, A SYSTEM

The warehouse that talks to the entire flow.

The automated warehouse doesn't stand in isolation: input and output are served by autonomous vehicles, and everything is coordinated by the orchestration layer, connected to your WMS/ERP. That gives you full traceability and a continuous flow, from receiving through shipping.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between an automated warehouse with cranes (AS/RS) and one with shuttles (AVS/RS)?

Crane systems (AS/RS) offer maximum selectivity and direct access to every pallet, ideal for large SKU ranges and tall heights. Shuttle systems (AVS/RS) offer maximum density through multi-depth storage, suited to high volumes with few SKUs. The choice depends on SKU count, throughput, and inventory turnover.

Can an existing warehouse be automated without stopping operations?

Yes. Systems can be deployed in new facilities (greenfield) or over existing warehouses (brownfield), integrating with current operations without stopping them.

Does the automated warehouse work in refrigerated or frozen environments?

Yes, both crane systems and shuttle systems work in refrigerated and frozen environments.

Who controls the warehouse — my WMS or your software?

Both options are possible. If you already have a mature WMS, the partner's orchestration software executes the commands it receives from it. If you prefer, the orchestration software coordinates everything and communicates directly with your ERP.
